Waterloo Region reaction to recession's end Updated Mon. Nov. 30 2009 7:52 PM ET

New numbers from Statistics Canada show that the recession in this country is officially over. That's news to anyone dealing with economic challenges in Waterloo Region.
Jobseeker Amanda Browne says it still seems more companies are firing than hiring.
"I think we came into the recession late," says Joan Fisk with The Greater K-W Chamber of Commerce. "I think we're going to come out of the recession late."
Fisk also says the area is well poised to recover from the recession, mainly because of the diverse economy here. |
